Cardiac Arrhythmia In Anaesthesia
Tamer Mousaad Abdel-Hamid Gamal Eldin;
Abstract
The essay deals first with the anatomy of the conductive system of the hea,
/.JI which is one of the factors that may cause arrhythmia.
The study then deals with the electro-physiological changes occurring in cells df
. myocardium during passage of impulses. .
Then generally we deal with the factors which lead to arrhythmia and tJe mechanism of arrhythmogenesis of each factor .
These factors are either:
- Disorder of impulse formation.
- Disorder of impulse conduction.
• . Then we deal with antiarrhythmic drugs , their classication , mechanism of action, dosage and side effects of each . . /
fl Then we deal with causes of cardiac arrhythmia in the peri-operative period ahd these are classified into:
-Group (A) Cardiac diseases (as systemic hypertension).
-Group (B) Other system diseases which may be
. Autonomic imbalance.
. Temperature imbalance.
. Drugs ( including anaesthetic agents)
Then the study deals with diagnosis of each type of arrhythmia , its ECG
manifestations and the treatment of each type. . . /
Then the study deals with the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrest rhytm , which are either :
-Shockable (ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation)
Non-shockable (Asystole and pulseless electrical activity)
