INFLUENCE OF VARIATION IN PROTEIN CONCENTRATION ON ASSESSMENT OF SERUM GLYCATED PROTEINS IN DIABETIC NEPHROPATHIC PATIENTS

lman Mohammad Ibrahim Soliman;

Abstract

(BUN). Na. K . albumin and total protein were estimated as well as the ekctrnphoretie pattern or serum proteins.

The mean serum fl•uctosamine cnncentrati<1n in diabetic patients

(-I 2 I I Ommnl/1.) was significantly increased ( 1.1.1.3%) as compared with. normal subjects (I X:!: tl.l1nmni/L).1vhile the mean IIBAc concentration in diabetic patients ( ll.'i :lc 4 'i'%) was highly significantly in reased ( IOI' 'o) as compared to the normal subjects ('i 7±1 0%) On the other hand. the mean serum fl•uctosamine concentration in diabetic nephropathy patients (3 'i :1: Ot,nHnoi/L) was high signilicantly increased (p• 0.0 I) as compared with normal subjects. also the mean HBAc concentration in diabetic
nephropathy patients ( ll.'i ± 4.'i%) was high significantly increased
(p n tll) as wmpared 1vith normal subjects.
