Pattarns of Female Genital System Morbidity In a Rural Area in Sohag Governorate

Abstract
The key tindings of this study included the following:
• The weal numb.:r of the studied women was 212, and the mean age of them was 34.8 years. 92% of them had experienced ml!narchc bdon: the age of 15 years. 83.5% got married before the age of20, 58.9% had parity 5+, 67.0% of studied women had tamilics of5+ membcrs with mean family size 5.7. Consanguinity comprises 46.2%, 83.5% of women were illiterate, 97.6% are not working tor cash (housewives), 68.9% ofwomen's husbands were illiL.:rate. •
• Rcgun..ling the housing conditions, it is illustrated that in more than half of studied households (56.6%), > 3 persons Jive in one room, 61.7% have piped water, 63.7% of households have latrinl!s.
• Con<.:l!ming th.: gynecologic morbidity among the studied women, it is reponed• chat 57.5% are suffering from abnormal vaginal discharge, 15.6% have chronic cervicitis, 12.7% have cervical dysplasia, 61.3% have chronic pelvic pain, 9.0% have genital prolapse, 6.6% •have perineal tears, 1.4% have pelvi-abdominal muss, •0.9% hud hysterectomy, 16.5% were suffering from ini nility and 21.2% suffer from abnormal vaginal bleeding.
