Abd El-Rahman Mohamed Ahmed Marzouk;

Abstract

A total of twenty-four surface water samples and thirty-six agricultural soil samples were collected from six different governorates (Beni Suef, Giza, Sharkeya, Menofeya, Gharbeya, and Alexandria) in Egypt during 2016. 17 toxic congeners of chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans, 12 congeners of dioxin-like chlorinated biphenyl and 6 congeners of non-dioxin like chlorinated biphenyl analyzed in collected samples by several clean-up columns chromatography then determined by high-resolution gas chromatography/high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRGC/HRMS).
Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the level of persistent organic pollutants in soil and water from the Egyptian Agricultural locations, to help conserve natural resources and Sustainability for it and help the decision-makers to formulate an Egyptian standard for soil and water pollution with persistent organic pollutants.
