MASSIVE PRODUCTION OF SOME ECONOMICALLY IMPORT A.NT METABOLIC COMPOUNDS IN DUNALIELLA SALINA
Hala Mohamed Taha;
Abstract
I-Results obtained for the basal medium
a-Values of growth parameters, i.e. cell count, log cell count, optical density, relative growth rate, growth rate and generation time showed that 8-10 days of culturing are the more suitable time for harvesting Dunaliella cells for most of the analyses used. The generation time after this period was 3. I days.
b- The yield ratio of protein , carbohydrates and glycerol was nearly 1.1 : 1. 0 : 13. 0 respectively.
c- Since glycerol synthesis surpassed that of protein and carbohydrates, which confirmed the results of other authors, that the alga not only naturally synthesizes glycerol to withstand the high salt concentration of the medium but also the accumulation of glycerol may extend on the expense of other metabolites
2-Results for growth optimization indicated that :
