Effects of Delayed Supine Positioning after Induction of Subarachnoid Block on Prevention of Post-spinal Hemodynamic Changes Compared to Traditional Subarachnoid Block

Abstract
nee Arthroscope surgeries are common surgical procedures performed under general or spinal anesthesia except for a small number of cases were local anesthesia is preferred.
Spinal anesthesia has proved to be an excellent choice for such surgery. Hypotension after spinal anesthesia remains a common and potentially serious complication, despite the use of vasopressors such as ephedrine and fluid loading with crystalloids.
Hypotension during spinal anesthesia results from sympathetic blockade that leads to vasodilatation and a reduction in systemic vascular resistance. With an extensive block this may lead to decreased venous return that is the main determinant of hypotension during central neuraxial blockade.
Subsequently we have performed a randomized controlled study includes 50 patients are undergoing knee Arthroscope surgery on 2 groups A,B each one includes 25 patients.
We hypothesized that delaying the supine position after induction of the SAB is of great value in attaining satisfactory level of anesthesia (sensory level around T10) with more stable hemodynamics and this helps a lot the patients who are candidate for knee arthroscope.
