Abstract

This thesis present experimental program to study the behavior of short H.S.C composite steel columns repaired by CFRP laminates and subjected to either uni-axial or biaxial eccentric loading. The experimental program can be divided to two main phases, the first phase consist of studying the behavior of six columns three of them were subjected to uni-axial eccentric loading while the other three were subjected to biaxial eccentric loading, while the other phase consist of studying the behavior of five columns from first phase after repairing them by CFRP and subjecting them to the same eccentric loading. The thesis focus in giving comparison between the behavior of each column before and after repairing to evaluate strength and deformation enhancement in columns structural performance achieved by the repairing technique. That study give clear conclusion that wrapping high strength concrete composite steel column by carbon fiber reinforced polymers consider very effective technique for repairing short H.S.C composite steel columns and enhance its mechanical properties.
