“Modified Algorithms for MPPT in PV Modules”

Abstract
Nowadays, renewable energy resources play an important role in
replacing conventional fossil fuel energy resources. Solar photovoltaic
(PV) systems are distributed sustainable energy sources that are an
environmentally friendly and promising renewable source of energy
resources which grew rapidly in the past few years.
However, Photovoltaic have some drawbacks as it needs a high
capital cost but it has one major problem as it is a relatively low efficiency
system because the solar PV power fluctuates due to variations in
operating conditions of the array like radiation and temperature levels so
the voltage at which maximum power can be obtained from it also
changes. As a consequence, the Solar panels have a nonlinear voltage-
current characteristic, with a distinct maximum power point (MPP), which
depends on the environmental factors. In order to continuously harvest
maximum power from the solar panels, they have to operate at their MPP
despite the inevitable changes in the environment. This is why the
controllers of all solar power electronic converters employ some methods
for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). This work hopes to
alleviate this problem by using novel power electronic converter and
control MPPT algorithm. Furthermore, when the solar panel is directly
