Abstract


Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder whose complications effect widely on the quality of life, longevity and healthcare costs and many research works attempt to discover an effective ways to protect the tissues damaged caused by DM. Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages worldwide and is one of the main source of CGA especially in green coffee that exhibit various biological benefits.
 Aim of the study:
The aim of this study was toevaluate the possible effect of GCBs aqueous extract on PG of STZ induced diabetic albino ratsand to evaluate the effect of DM on PG histologically and immunohistochemically.
 Study methodology:
Forty two adult male albino rats (weighing between 200-250gm each) were used in this study.
The animals were equallydividedinto the following groups:
Group I (Control): Each rat was received 0.2-0.25ml citrate buffer. This group was subdivided equally into 2 subgroups IA, IB in which rats were sacrificed corresponding to their experimental subgroups.
