Abstract


Clinical learning experience is important in nursing education. Clinical practice in a clinical setting provides students with opportunities to learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes of nursing, and make them able to apply theory learned in the classroom. However, it is affected by complex variables that cannot always be controlled by the student or the teacher.

The aim of the present study was to identify the perception of nurse-teachers and nursing students about the factors that influence the clinical experience.

The study sample consisted of 198 senior students, and 30

teachers with at least one-year experience. The respondents were selected from three secondary technical nursing schools in Cairo governorate, affiliated to the General Organization for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes, namely AI-Mataria, Al-Sahel, and AI-Galaa schools.

The tools for data collection were two questionnaires designed by the researcher, one for the nurse teachers, and the other for the nurse students. Each questionnaire was composed of two parts. The first part was concerned with the demographic
