"The Impact of Intellectual Capital Financial Measurement and Competitive Advantage to Attain Sustainable Development" (An Applied Study)

Abstract
The research aims to analyze the relationship between intellectual capital and competitive advantage and the impact of this relationship on sustainable development .This study uses the approach of cross sectional and time series observations of the annual reports for listed financial and non-financial companies in the Egyptian Stock Exchange during the period (2014-2018), with a total of 175 observations ,in order to test the research four hypothesis that reflects the relationship between intellectual capital and both competitive advantage and sustainable development, so panel regression model will be most applicable to present such a linear relationship.
The results of the study points to a significant relationship between intellectual capital and administrative ratio, expenditure ratio and cost benefit ratio which express the controlling variable (Competitive advantage) ,and its statistically significant positive relationship with quick ratio, net financial assets, debt to equity, and assets sustainability which express dependent variable (financial sustainability). Based on that the study results emphasize on the necessity of dealing with intellectual capital as a major and strategic resource among the various resources that the company possesses and continuously maintains and develops it, The company needs to support and encourage creativity, through experimenting with ideas and innovative solutions provided by employees and putting them into practice, and the necessity for the company to give more importance to manage the intangible resources because it is considered a real capital for the company. The findings demonstrate the company must continuously develop its organizational structure to suit the competitive environment especially when its main objective is to attain sustainable development as it is nowadays a high criterion to cope with overall economic changes.
