Effect of Aloin on Aurora Kinase A Activity in a Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cell Line

Youssef Saad Saad Youssef Elmashad;

Abstract

The HepG2 cells was incubated with multiple increasing concentrations of aloin (50-500 μg/ml) for 24 and 72 h or doxorubicin (0.5-12 μg/ml) for 72 h. The cytotoxic effects of aloin and doxorubicin were evaluated by MTT and clonogenic assays, from which IC50 values were calculated and then used to assess the expression of genes involved in the regulation of the mitotic machinery in HepG2 cells.
