Abstract
Plasmapheresis or therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) is a procedure which removes circulating antibodies, immune complexes and toxins from the blood. During plasmapheresis whole blood is removed from patient and pass through an extracorporeal medical device, which separates the plasma from the cellular component of the blood. The plasma is removed and replaced with colloid solution (e.g., albumin and-or donated plasma) or a combination of crystalloid and colloid solution (Seyhanli et al., 2021).
Aim of study:
The present study was conducted to assess needs of patients undergoing plasmapheresis and develop suggested guidelines. This aim was achieved through the following:
1. Assess needs for the patients’ undergoing plasmapheresis.
2. Develop suggested guidelines for patients undergoing plasmapheresis.
