Diet, Serum Short Chain Fatty Acids, and Potential Molecular Associations in Obesity
Lobna Mohammad Nabil Helmy;
Abstract
besity and obesity-related conditions are major health problems worldwide that have profound impact on health impairment and reduced quality of life. This emphasizes on the importance of clarifying its etiology and developing targeted therapies or preventive measures. Although obesity is caused primarily by alterations in the energy consumption/expenditure balance, the complex interplay of host genetics with diet and gut microbiota is suggested to play a significant role in this disequilibrium.
