Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate the influence of selenium and silicon foliar applications on vegetative growth, chlorophyll, mineral content of leaves and seeds, and seed yield of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) plants cv. Nebraska in the two successive seasons of 2020 and 2021.
An experiment was conducted at the Experimental Field of Horticulture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Qalubia Governorate, Egypt (30°06'45.3"N 31°14'37.1"E) in the two successive seasons of 2020 and 2021.
Seven foliar treatments were applied on the common bean plants; sodium selenite at 10, 20 and 30 μM, and sodium silicate at 0.5, 1 and 2 mM plus water as control treatment. Treatments were arranged in a completely randomized block design with three replicates.
