Fatma Abady Awade Abady;

Abstract

Risk management is a known as a three-stage process; risk identification, risk analysis, and risk actions. Therefore, this study is devoted to address the three-stages of risk management to both of General Construction and Banking Construction projects in Egypt. A Spearman Ranked Correlation test is applied to the two lists, and showed that risk factors for Banking is statistically different than those of the General Construction. A Design Structure Matrix (DSM) approach is used to identify the root risks among the overall top risks. A pool of risk actions is recommended, and their impact on the three project objectives are assessed by the multi criteria optimization method TOPSIS to choose the most effective few actions. The study key results present the top ranked risks for each for Banking and construction, their most effective actions, and compares such risks with internationally reported top risks.
