Cohesion in African Narrative: A Linguistic Study of Racial Discrimination and Colonialism in Three Novels by Ngugi wa Thiong'o

Abstract
This concluding chapter is designed to recapitulate the major concerns of the study and to draw some theoretical and pedagogical implications. A few recommendations will also be made about possible further research on related areas. More detailed methodological notes as well as conditions have been put forward in various places throughtout the study. What is incorporated in this conclusion, therefore, is to hightlight some of the important findings in order to draw a clear picture of the dissertation.
The present dissertation has shown that the selected novels of Ngugi wa Thiong'o focus mainly on how the consequences of British colonialism and racial discrimination distort the Kenyan people during the colonial era. Ngugi wa Thiong'o is one of the most prominent African novelists and short story writers whose works mean pride for Kenya and Africa as a whole. The position of Ngugi wa Thiong'o as a writer whose product led him to abtain several literary awards crowned by Nobel Prize in the 20th century, has been one of the major reasons that tempted the researcher to choose his works for the conduction of the study.Ngugi wa Thiong'o is not only a writer, but also a human rights activist, who advocates and shows great interest in fighting against the ideology of colonial exploitation and racial discrimination, especially in Africa namely Kenya.
