STUDY OF THE THERMAL AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF SOME SUPERIONIC CONDUCTOR MATERIALS
Magdy Ahmed Mahmoud EL- Abshehy;
Abstract
A series of LiNaS04 crystals have been prepared by melting a mixture of equimolar ratios of Li2S04 and Na2S04 at 1200 k in a porcelain crucible for 4 hours. The melt was allowed to cool to room
temperature and then ground in an agate mortar. The material was pressed under pressure of 5 Tons/cm2 to form discs of diameter 10 mm and thickness 3-6 mm.
Characterization of the prepared samples have been made from the studies of x-ray diffraction, infrared absorption, differential thermal analysis, specific heat at constant pressure as well as electrical conductivity measurements.
The effect of doping, v-radiation and DC-electric field on the physical properties of the sample have been also investigated.
