THE RELATION BETWEEN BENIGN JOINT HYPERMOBILITY SYNDROME AND GENITAL PROLAPSE IN WOMEN AT REPORUDTIVE AGE

Omar Hamed El-Magharbel;

Abstract

Benign hypermobility syndrome (BHS) is one of the syndromes which widely spread between population. Also, genital prolapse during childbearing period is widely spread. So, in that study, the relation between BHS and genital prolapse was identified.
We start the research by rev1ew of literature on the developmental anatomy of the genital tract which · show that the fallopian tubes, uterus and upper part of vagina develop from the mullerian duct, while the lower part of vagina developed as vulva.
' Then, we describe the vagina as it is a· musculo-mmbranous f canal which connect the vulva with the uterus. It is related anteriorly to the base of the bladder and urethera and posteriorly
. to Doughlas pouch, rectum and perineal body which separate its lower part from anal canal sphincters.
Also, we describe the uterus as a hollow thick-walled muscular organ .· which 1s situated in the pelvis, between the bladder anteriorly. and rectum posteriorly. It is placed in anteverted ante-flexed position.. From outer surface, it is divided anatomically into corpus representing the upper 2/3 and the cervix which represent the lower 1/3. The uterus is supported in position by ligamentous supports (pubo-cervical-transverse cervical" and ut ro-sacral ligaments), muscular supports (Levator am and
coccgeus muscules) and bony supports..
