ISLAM ABD-ELMONEAM AHMED ALI;

Abstract

Gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii Bolus) is an attractive cut flower, cultivated commercially under protected condition, and ranked fifth among high 10 cut flowers of world market. Several factors affect production, yield and quality of gerbera flowers, especially growing medium substrate, type of mineral fertilizer and addition of biostimulant/biofertilizers.
The current study was conducted to investigate the effect of growing medium substrate, mineral fertilization and bio-stimulant on production, yield and quality of gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii cv. “Jaguar Yellow”) flowers. The study’s experiments were conducted at the farm of Arid Land Agricultural Graduate Studies and Research Institute (ALARI), Shobra Elkheima, Qalyobia governorate, Egypt, for two consecutive seasons (2016/2017 and 2017/2018).
