Properties of Reactive Powder Concrete Incorporating Local Materials and its Applications

Abstract
In this chapter a study is carried out to consider RPC as concern to its cost-effectiveness and sustainability. The cost-effectiveness identification together with optimizing the development of RPC is considered the main concepts of sustainability. As mentioned before, RPC is a type of high strength concrete that possess excellent engineering properties such as shrinkage and creep, low permeability, high strength and enhanced corrosion resistance. RPC is more economic and valuable than conventional concrete. This can be due to the reduction in dead load materials and other elements and structure costs. Also, the complete service life values are considered due to improved durability and decreased maintenance costs.
