Evaluation of Allograft Injection (Heterologous Verruca Vulgaris Lesion Extract) in the Treatment of Verruca Vulgaris

Abstract
Arts are a common viral infection in different age groups with more than 200 types. Its pathogen is the HPV, which causes cutaneous and mucosal warts.
Although spontaneous clearance of VV has been seen, some are more resistant to treatment. Different modalities have variable efficacy, different recurrence rate, and are usually associated with pain and scarring.
Immunotherapy is a promising method of treatment due to absence of scarring, less side effects and less probability of recurrence.
The main role of immunotherapy in treatment of warts is stimulation of cell-mediated immunity. HPV infection leads to release of specific antibodies and Th-1 lymphocytes activation. IL-4 which is secreted from Th2 cells leads to production of antibodies, while IL-12 is a Th-1 immune proinflammatory cytokines response. The activated immune system can kill treated and even distant warts.
This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of local allograft injection (heterologous VV lesion extract) as a treatment of VV.
The present study was a single-blind, placebo-controlled study which included 30 patients with 3 or more VV
