Abstract

The present study displayed the effect of pretreatment of apelin on liver dysfunctionsin isoprenaline-induced heart failure rat model.
This study was performed on 39 adult female Wistar rats, weighing 170 -200 grams at the start of the study that were assigned randomly into 3 groups:
Group 1:Control group (n=13):
This group of rats was subjected to daily intraperitoneal injection of saline for 2 weeks.
Group 2:Isoprenaline induced heart failure group (Iso group) (n=13):
This group of rats was subjected to daily intraperitoneal injection of saline for 2 weeks. In the last 2 days of experimentalprotocol, they were subcutaneouslyinjectedwith isoprenaline in a dose of 100 mg /kgtwice with 24 hours apart between the 2 doses (Shahzad et al., 2019).
Group 3:Apelin group (n=13):
This group of rats was subjected to daily intraperitoneal injection of apelin-13 at a dose of 15 µg/kg/day (Xu et al., 2017) for 2 weeks. In the last 2 days of experimentalprotocol, they were
