Abstract


Internet addiction is defined as the excess uncontrolled used internet, and time-consuming to the point of timelessness and severely disrupting people’s lives. Internet addiction is characterized by a maladaptive pattern of internet use leading to clinically significant impairment or distress (Carter, 2018).

Internet addiction (IA) is a major concern in university nursing students. The implications of this addiction as well as its association with sleep, mood disorders and self-esteem can hinder their studies, impact their long-term career goals, and have wide and detrimental consequences for society (Agbaria, and Bdier, 2021).
Self-esteem is defined as the ability of a person to be able to evaluate himself and based on the results of this assessment to tread in his life, to cope with the challenges and achieves his goals (Martinsen et al., 2021).
