Development of Egyptian practice guidelines in management of stroke in pediatrics

Abstract


This study aimed to develop Egyptian clinical practice pediatric stroke management guidelines that suitable for all resources at different Egyptian hospitals.
Twenty-six of Egyptian experts in the field of neurology in pediatrics were selected and invited to participate in this project. Two round Delphi techniques were applied to build up the consensus among the experts on the formulated guidelines, 75% agreement was used as cut off.
The questionnaires were sent by e-mail to 26 pediatric experts from different universities, the Ministry of health, the military, Police, health insurance, educational, curative organizations hospitals, and specialized medical centers, the duration of the study was 12 months from June 2019 to June 2020.
The first version of the formulated practice guidelines was delivered to the Egyptian experts after explaining the aim and the methodology of the study (first round). After that, the responses were collected and clearing up the areas of disagreement and considering the different recommendations of the panel experts (second round). The questionnaires were in the form of multiple-choice questions and the experts chose the most suitable answers according to their experience.
