THREE DIFFERENT FUNCTIONAL IMPRESSION TECHNIQUES OF LOWER DISTAL EXTENSION REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURES (Comparative study)

Abstract


The eurrent study carried out to evaluate the effect of three different
functional impression techniques which were Hindels, altered cast and one pour altered impression technique on the abutment and residual alveolar ridge.
Twenty one female patients were selected for this study aged from

30 - 50. Those patients having lower bilateral free end arches opposed bv

dentulous maxilla.
A clinical and radiographical examination then mouth preparation were carried for these patients.
The patients were divided into three groups:
The first group
1. Contains seven patients receiving lower partial denture made from
Hindels impression technique.

The second group
I Consists of seven patients having a lower partial denture made from
I altered cast impression technique.
The third group


Includes seven patients, their lower partial denture constructed from
f one pour altered cast impression technique.
The following investigations were carried out at insertion, after 6 months and then after 12 months.
