Effect of Shift Report Training Program for Nurses on Quality of Reporting

Abstract
It is important that all healthcare team members communicate with each other regarding assessment, intervention outcomes, and client status. Shift report is crucial on achieving effective, safe, and high quality communication when the responsibility for the patient care is transferred from one nurse to another in suitable manner. It is apparent that a breakdown in communication systems, in hospitals, compromises the patient safety obviously. Ineffective handover can lead to incorrect patient treatment, delays in diagnosis and treatment, unnecessary tests; increase the length of stay, patient complaints and malpractice claims (Deng, et al., 2018; ALasdy, 2019).
The aim of this study is measuring the effect of shift report training program for nurses on quality of reporting.
One type pretest-post test research design was used to achieve the aim of the current study. This study was conducted at Shoubra General Hospital which affiliated ministry of health hospitals Total bed capacity is (200) bed. Two groups of subjects participated in the study 50 head nurses and 129 staff nurses out from 194
