Abstract


From this study, the role of U.S. in diagnosis of biliary atresia is evident.
It is the triangular cord sign is a simple, timesaving and
reliable diagnostic feature in the evaluation of infants with infantile cholestasis. All these findings that emerge from the ultrasonographic examination - with T.C. sign on top of them - as it is an important, recordable, convenient sign will be
helpful to all the members of B .A management team. With also its obvious prelevance in the study and could be taken in many cases as major compartment in the diagnosis .. But not always superior to biopsy specimen examination.
Then, the impact of T.C. sign will be more valuable when the case of B.A. enter the surgical interest to be a correctable disorder with aid of biopsy examination (as the reasonable method of diagnosis). Intraoperative cholangiogram guide the surgical correction according to the type of congenital B .A.
