SYNTHESIS OF SOME SUBSTITUTED ACRIDINE DERIVATIVES OF ANTICIPATED ANTITUMOR ACTIVITY
Doaa Ezzat Abdel Rahman;
Abstract
In the present investigation 12 known starling compounds, 3 novel intermediates and 55 novel final compounds belonging to 9 series of new acridine derivatives of anticipated antineoplastic activity have been synthesized
The first series consists of N,N'-bis{ 1,2-[ 9-(4-substituted sul famoy}• phenyl)aminoacridine-4-carboxamide]ethylenediamine}. The second comprises of N,N'-bis { 1,4-[9-(4-substituted sulfamoylphenyl)amino• acridine-4-carboxamide]p-phenylenediamine}. The third and fourth are 1-
(4-substituted sulfamoy/phenyl)aminoacridine-4-carboxylic acid (4•
substituted sulfamoylphenyl)amide. The fifth and sixth are 9-oxo-1-(4-
substituted sulfamoylpheny1)ainino-9,10-dihydroacridine-4-carboxy1 ic acid (4-substituted sulfamoylphenyl)amide. The seventh is 2-substituted phenyl-2,6-dihydropyra_zolo[3,4,5-kl]acridine-5-carboxylic acid (4- substituted sulfamoy/phenyl)amide. The eighth is 4-{5-(N'-phenyl•
hydrazinocarbonyl)-6H-pyrazolo[3,4,5-kl]acridine-2-y)}-N-substituted
%
benzenesulfonamide. The last one belongs to 2-substituted phenyl-2,6•
- dihydropyrazolo[3,4,5-kl]acridine-5-carboxylic acid (4-substituted sulfamoyl phenyl)hydrazide.
The rational behind the synthesis of these compounds, their methods of synthesis as well as their antineop]astic activity are discussed. In this thesis the following compounds were prepared:
1-Known starting and intermediate compounds
1) N-(2-Carboxyphenyl)anthrani)ic acid.
2) 9-0x0-9,1 O-dihydroacridine-4-carboxy Ii c acid.
3) 9-Chloroacridine-4-carbonyl chloride.
4) 4-Hydrinobenze :sulfonamide.
