Some occupational zoonotic bacterioses of veterinarians in Qalyobia Governorate

Abstract


Serologic examination of 200 blood samples collected from cows , buffaloes, sheep and goats (50 of each ) in Qalyobia governorate for detection of brucellosis by using RBPT as a qualitative screen test and TAT as a quantitative, confirmatory and highly reliable for RBPT revealed that the infectious rate was 8% , 4% , 24% and 14% using RBPT and 8%, 4%, 20% and 12% using TAT respectively.

- The infectious rate of brucellosis in Qalyobia Governorate was 12.5 %




- The infectious rate of brucellosis was higher in Kaha than in Toukh and Benha.

A total of 200 cows and buffaloes (100 of each ) were tested by single intra dermal tuberculin test using human PPD and the result was negative.

- 230 animals (50 of each , cows , buffaloes , sheep , goats and 30 camels ) were examined for isolation and identification of staph. aureus , the percentage of nasal isolations was 32%, 42%, 22%, 44% and 83.3% and skin isolations was 34%, 42%, 20%, 26% and 33.3% in cattle , buffaloes, sheep, goats and camels respectively .

- I solations of staphylococcosis form nose of camels recorded a great number of isolation than any other animals .
- Animals with nasal catarrh or with skin lesions gave more isolations to staph. aureus than apparently healthy ones .
