Abstract


ttention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common neurodevelopmental disorder in children with a high degree of associated behavioral problems.The task of rearing a child with ADHD is among the most determining and stressful tasks that family may face.
Extra-care and extra-attention is necessary and may be an additional source of parent’s low self-confidence, anxiety and depression. Parents more frequently suffer from a higher rate of depression, mental wellbeing, hours and quality of sleep, satisfaction with leisure time, health, life satisfaction, and happiness with relationships due to care demands as well as physical and financial difficulties.
So, it requires use of family social support that may have a buffering effect either directly or indirectly and prevent social isolation, and improved parental variables such as self-efficacy or psychological well-being.
