NORMAL TISSUE TOLERANCE TO RE-IRRADIATION IN RECURRENT BREAST CANCER CASES

Raef Sief EI-Din Ahmed Awad;

Abstract

Locoregional recurrence in carcinoma of the breast after radical or modified radical mastectomy has been reported in 10% to 20% of patients. Although in locally advanced disease, the incidence is as high as 40 to 45%.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the tolerance of normal tissues to re-irradiation in patients with locally recurrent breast cancer who had received adjuvant radiotherapy following modified radical mastectomy
