Cleaning ability and Apically Extruded Debris of Three Single file Rotary Nickel Titanium systems (an in vitro study)
Nadine Tarik Mahmoud Ahmed Mogahed;
Abstract
This study was dedicated to evaluate the cleaning ability and the amount apically extruded debris of three nickel titanium single file systems.
Forty five permanent mature single rooted teeth with straight single canal were selected to be used in this study.
The teeth were divided into three groups (n=15) according to the file system used:
• Group 1: 15 sample were prepared using Fanta AF F One file.
• Group 2: 15 sample were prepared using OneShape file.
• Group 3: 15 sample were prepared using OneCurve file.
Collection of the apically extruded debris was done with the method described by Myers and Montgomery using Eppendorf tubes. After that the Eppendorf tubes were placed in an incubator at 370 c for 15 days for desiccation.
A microbalance with an accuracy of 10-4g was used to measure the Eppendorf tubes before and after the preparation of the teeth. Then, the extruded debris weight was measured by subtracting the initial weight from the final weight.
The collected data was collected, tabulated and statistically analyzed.
The cleaning ability was evaluated using a digital microscope
