DETECTION OF MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSISIN CLINICAL SPECIMENS BY POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION IN CHILDREN

Abstract
The present study was carried out on 35 patients with pleural
effusion They were aitiologically divided into 3 groups.
Group 1 . included 10 patients with tuberculous effusion .
Group II :- included 10 patients with highly suspicious tuberculosis.
Group III :- included 15 patients with empyema .
It was found that PCR results was positive in all cases of groups I &
II, also it was negative in all cases with group III .
