Abstract
Beta-Thalassemia major is a genetically determined chronic anemia
resulting from a defect in hemoglobin synthesis. (1) Repeated blood
transfusion is necessary for survival. (2) Hemosiderosis and other compli
cation of the disease require a continuous and distressing treatment regimen.
