Abstract


The aim of present investigation is to determine the efficiency of four pesticides from different groups against the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci(Genn) on tomato and potato plants. The studies also included the determination of insecticide residues in tomato fruits and potato tubers at different intervals using high performance liquid chromatography.
The removal of insecticide residues from potato tubers and tomato fruits by using different washing solutions and home processing was one of the goals of this study.
The results achieved in these studies can be summarized as follow:
1- Efficiency of tested pesticides against different stages of the whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Genn) on tomato plants in

The mean effect of imidacloprid against the three stages of whitefly on tomato plants in 1997 and 1998 seasons expressed as % reduction was 92.41, 92.01, and 92. 2 8 for the adult, immature, and egg, stages of season 1997 respectively and mean for total effect on the three stages was 92.23% when the recommended does was applied while the corresponding values were 89 .43, 88.13 and
