" Traceable Calibration of Photovoltaic cells at NIS -Egypt. "
Esraa Mostafa Elmahdy;
Abstract
As a part of the radiometry laboratory at the National Institute of Standards (NIS), has taken in shoulder to establish systems for photovoltaic cells based on the implementation of the differential spectral responsivity (DSR) method and double monochromator system. These systems provide traceability for photovoltaic cells to the SI unit. Additionally, we established a system to improve our capability for calibrating the pyranometers.
This thesis will serve industries in photovoltaic and solar panels stations and researchers. It will provide the facility to calibrate their reference photovoltaic devices without sending them abroad, which is more expensive and time-consuming.
This thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter one displays an introduction and previous studies in various global institutes on the calibration of photovoltaic cells. In addition, state the aim of this study.
Chapter two contains general theoretical concepts. It presents the radiometric, photometric quantities, and photovoltaic cell traceability.
