Uro-gynecological fistula is usually a consequence of poor perinatal care in the developing world. On the other hand, in the developed world, it is related to gynecological or oncological etiology. Other causes include radiotherapy and gastrointestinal tract diseases like diverticular and Crohn’s disease. A urological fistula usually presents with urine leakage with or without the following related complications like genital ulceration, urinary tract infection, skin maceration, skin rash, scarring of the vagina, dyspareunia, and secondary infertility. In addition to the social and psychological stigma and the negative impact on the quality of life and socioeconomic status. Clinical examination and investigations like methylene blue test, cystogram, CT urography, or cystoscopy may be necessary for proper evaluation. Even with successful anatomical repair, restoration of the continence function may be challenging to achieve. Counseling of the patient to understand the nature of the problem, psychological support, Proper nutrition, and good surgical technique with well-trained healthcare givers in a well-equipped hospital during the perioperative period are essential for proper treatment.
