Abstract
A two-dimensional Graphdiyne is a carbon-based porous material having triangular holes resulting from the unique conjugated sp-sp2 carbon bonding and has diacetylenic linkage in conjugation with sp2 carbon. Graphdiyne has attracted significant research interest in catalysis, energy, environment, gas separation, water remediation, electronic devices, sensing, and biomedicine. However, synthesis and fabrication of graphdiyne as one or few layers crystalline structure is very critical and challenging aspects. Therefore, advancement in synthesis and fabrication strategy is very pivotal to achieve the desired structural, mechanical, and electronic properties in graphdiyne for various applications. In this book chapter, we have covered the synthesis and fabrication strategies of graphdiyne and its suitability for biosensing and bioimaging applications.
