Abstract
Condensation of γ-phenylitaconic anhydride 1 and γ-(p-methoxyphenyl) itaconic anhydride 2 with different hydrazines and amines gives the respective itaconic hydrazides, N-substituted itaconamic acids, N-substituted itaconimides and N-(n-butyl)-β-carboxy-γ-(n-butylamino)-γ-phenylbutyramide. The antimicrobial activity of some of the products has been studied and reported.
