Abstract

The temperature of the ground consequently govern the climate near the ground to the greatest extent; this is valid not only for the night but also for any time. The previous studies revealed a close relation between the temperature of the ground and that of the air. A system or measuring sandy soil temperature at 5 cm depth and other climatic factors was established to cover the period from June 1990 to June 1993 inside and outside plastichouse. The plastichouse planted by sweet pepper (Capsicum Annum ), cv Gedeon Fl. The data indicate a high correlation between soil temperature at depth 5 cm inside the plastic house and some internal and external climatic factors. These results assist in using the forecasting report of the Meteorological Authority to estimate the soil temperature inside and outside plastichouse and hence evapotranspiration.
