Abstract

The biological treatment of organic matter and bio-sorption of heavy metals by two
compounds were namely bacterial integrated effectiveness ( BIE) is contain mixed
different bacteria and algal integrated effectiveness ( AIE) is contain mixed different
algae in sewage water were investigated., all of them were prepared under lab condition
using as a biological different treatments .
Various parameters like Biological oxygen demand (BOD), Chemical oxygen
demand (COD), ammonia nitrogen and phosphate were measured after the treatment.
Percentage removal rate was found to be 80.49 &83.5% (BOD) and 82.93 & 85.4%
(COD) for bacteria ( BIE) and algae ( AIE) compounds , respectively. This is an
environmentally safe alternative for treating waste water. The initial time required for
maximum bio-sorption and removal of iron ion was estimated to be 48 hrs. and 4 days
for bacteria( BIE) and algae ( AIE) compounds, respectively. The bio-sorbent capacity
of this biological treatments was investigated.
High adsorption to bacteria treated at79 % and algae treated at 87% for iron ion, is
achieved in the present study. The value of Freundlich >Temkin equations for bacteria
treated and algae, The correlation coefficient (R2) value of bacteria ( BIE) treated at
0.86, whereas for algae ( AIE) treated at 0.94 for iron ion. The order of metal uptake
for the dried biomass was found to be Fe removal after 48 hrs. and 4 days by bacteria
and algae treated
