Abstract
Experiments were conducted in a glasshouse at Dok- ki Research and Training Site, Agricultural Research Center, for the two successive seasons of 1991/92 and 1992/93 in a recirculating system. Media tested were: (1) soil (S); (2) peat moss + sand + vermiculite (l:l:l-v/v/v) mixture (PSV); (3) peat moss only (P); (4) peat + vermiculite (1:1 v/v) mixture (PV); (5) peat + sand (1:1 v/v) mixture (PS); and (6) rock wool (RW). The experiments confirmed the possibility of recirculating the drained solution for cucumber grown under protected cultivation. Peat-based mixtures gave better results than the soil control. © 1995 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
