Economies of production of Maize crop in Al-sharqia governorate

Abstract

The research aimed to study the productive situation and the productive and economic indicators of the maize crop of (white and yellow) in Al-Sharkia Governorate, and to identify the production problems and proposals to solve them to reach the optimal production of the maize crop the secondary and primary field data were obtained to achieve the objectives of the study , where secondary data were obtained from official sources such as the Ministry of Agriculture and the Directorate of Agriculture in Al-Sharkia Governorate, while primary field data relied on through the field survey of a sample of farmers in Al-Sharkia Governorate during the In 2021, the main results of the research show that the production costs of the types of white and yellow maize were not different due to the similar agricultural processes, and the cost of the seeds for the two types is closer. However, the farm gate prices of the ardab for both types varies, with net yields for the maize white crop being 922.66 pounds/feddan, and yellow maize at 1908.94 pounds/feddan.
