Abstract

Two field experiments were carried out during 1992/1993 and1993/1994 seasons in sandy soil at El- Bosaily farm Bihara governorate. Five treatments were applied, i.e. cattle manure, chicken manure, cattle manure plus chicken manure, Cattle plus mineral fertilizer and Chicken plus mineral fertilizer. Ash, dry matter content, reducing sugars and non-reducing sugars, total carbohydrates and specific gratify were measured. Results indicated that applying cattle manure combined with chicken manure increased dry matter, total carbohydrates, specific gratify. On the other hand, reducing and non-reducing sugars were decreased with combined cattle and chicken manures. Using cattle or chicken with mineral fertilizer caused increasing in reducing and non-reducing sugar. Highest potato tuber yield was obtained by using cattle manure combined with chicken manure.
