Competitiveness of Egyptian Citrus Crops in The Chinese Market

Abstract


Egypt is trying to stimulate its foreign trade with the aim of increasing the domestic product. Egypt can also expand the production and export of the citrus crop, and despite this, the export capacity of it is still limited, besides that Egypt faces strong competition in the global market from other countries exporting the citrus crop, and the research problem is summarized in the fact that the Egyptian exports of the citrus crop to the countries of the world did not increase To the extent sufficient, which indicates the importance of studying competitiveness indicators to try to know how to increase the market share of Egypt as well as knowing the appropriate times to enter the markets, as well as trying to create new markets. The research aims to identify the most important importing markets for the Egyptian citrus crop, as well as referring to some indicators of the competitiveness of the Republic of Egypt The Arab countries compared to other countries, where Egypt came with a price competitive advantage in the Chinese market compared to the most important competing countries in this market, where the average price competitiveness for the first period of South Africa amounted to about $0.85 per ton, about $0.75 per ton for the second period and an overall average of about $0.80 per ton. The average price competitiveness for the first period of America was about $0.81 per ton, about $0.57 per ton for the second period, with a general average of about 0.69 d. dollars per ton, while the average price competitiveness for the first period of Australia amounted to about 0.66 dollars per ton, about 0.46 for the second period, with a general average of about 0.56 dollars per ton, and the average price competitiveness for the first period of Thailand was about 0.78 dollars per ton, about 0.41 dollars per ton for the second period and an average It amounted to about 0.59 dollars per ton.
