Joint Action of Fenvalerate Mixtures Against the cotton Leaf Worm, Spodoptera Littoralis (Boisd.)
El-Said El- Zemaity, Mohamed;
Abstract
The effectiveness of the pyrethroid insecticide fenvalerate in combination with Bacillus thuringiensis [subsp. kurstaki] (Dipel) or the insect growth regulator diflubenzuron against larvae of the noctuid Spodoptera littoralis was tested under laboratory conditions. The results showed a potentiation effect when fenvalerate at the LC25 was mixed with either diflubenzuron or Dipel. Raising the LC value of fenvalerate or diflubenzuron revealed an additive effect. The cotoxicity factor decreased when the LC value of fenvalerate or Dipel increased. The effects on pupation rate, pupal weight and adult eclosion of the mixtures were also reduced.
