The impact of air pressure spray factors on control the white mango scale Aulacaspis Tuberculais (Newsted)

Abstract


Mangoes are of great economic importance and occupies third place in trade after citrus and grapes in Egypt. It's also the most important fruit crops economically successful in the sandy and reclaimed land. It is one of the most popular fruit in Egypt. Mango trees are suffering from infestation with many armored scale insects. Armored scale insects causing severe damages to the leaves representing in yellowish the leaves, defoliation of vegetative growth and causing death to the branches. The researchers aims to resistant insect mango cortical white using machine of pneumatic pressure spray. In this paper was studying the different factors of spray the pesticide machine, using air pressure such as: rate of spray and speed of spray and different levels of the pesticide - air mixing. The experiments were carried out at Mango Farm, Horticulture Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Giza, Egypt season of 2015.The obtained results were as follows: 1) By increasing the air speed and adding rate of pesticide spraying, the reduction of percentage in infestation by the white scale mango was increased., and 2) The lowest of reduction percentage of infestation by the white scale mango was at the air speed of pesticide spraying of 5.5 m/s and adding rate of pesticide spraying of 0.5 l/min. Meanwhile, the highest of reduction percentage of infestation by the white scale mango was at the air speed of 8.5 m/s and adding rate of 2.5 l/min using air pressure sprayer.
