Abdelsalam, Samar;

Abstract

This article examines the construction and negotiation of identity in Deena Mohamed’s webcomic Qahera through the intersections of gender, religion, and cultural representation. It analyses how the comic challenges dominant stereotypes about Muslim women and reimagines the superhero genre to foreground issues of agency, Islamic feminism, and sociopolitical critique within contemporary Arab and global contexts.
