Abstract
This study wa planned to evaluate the erythropoietic activity in chronic hereditary anemia cases on repeated blood transfusion with hypo • and hyperactive bone marrow. crythroroiesis, by estimating the serum transferrin receptor level. in relation to several hematological parameters and to serum• EPO level.
This study was conducted on 46 pediatric children with chronic hereditary anemia requiring repeated blood transfusion and 25 of healthy children were also included as control.
The samples were collected from these patients •while attending the hematology clinic of the New Children Hospital, Cairo University. and it were collected just prior to blood transfusion. these samples included serum samples and EDTA samples.
